Tacos en casa de Tía Rosa.

El uno de Abril, Domingo de Ramos, estuvimos en Tijuana visitando a la Tía Rosa (tía de Pepe). Nos pasamos una tarde muy agradable en su casa, nos invitaron una riquísima carne asada con nopales, cebollines, elotes y todas esas cosas que nos gustan.

Como se puede ver Bidane siempre es una buena comensal y nunca dice que no a un taco.

Ese día estaba muy agradable, habia un sol sabrosín, platicamos de la familia, de la vieja Tijuana, de libros y aventuras. Todo estuvo muy bien, hasta el regreso a San Diego, hicimos tiempo récord de 3 horas para cruzar la línea.

Re-Conquistador.

Ussually, while washing dishes, I listen to the radio. Yesterday, it wasn't the exception, since I could not change frequency (I had my hands wet), I started to put attention to a radio-show about Republican candidates. People calling to the host, having opinions about their Republicans "wannabes", -by the way it was a show in spanish-.

So, one call came and he said.
- I support Tancredo.
The radio-host replied -But he has an against- immigration opinion-.
- I'm fine with that, not everybody comes to this country to work, there are people like "Zapatistas" that want to come and gain back their territories.-

I assume he was talking about the territories lost by Mexicans to the U.S in the 1840's. The argument is just ignorant from whatever point of view. Made me laugh for such stupidity and made me be worried if there are people in U.S., thinking in "Zapatistas" coming or believing that Mexican in general are "Zapatistas". Despite their reason for indians rights, Zapatistas are qualified as terrorist in many cases.

¡¡¡Santo Niño de Atocha!!!!

Mexico is a country of many religious traditions, feelings and beliefs around saints, miracles and faith.

When accidents, illness or so kind of disgrace happen to some body; in many cases, people promise "ex-votos," that it is a kind of painting representing the cure of the illness, an escape of an accident and so on. In those little paintings has to be the saint which is responsible of the miracle and the person favored with it.

The second saint ranking as the most miraculous is "El Santo Niño de Atocha", is an image, little statute of a boy, represented Jesus as a child, and it is located in a church in a town of the state of Zacatecas.

The folk-tales say that this figure steps out from his place and goes around, making little miracles or playing (as a boy he is). Just days ago, people visiting the church, had a sight of the child standing up, over the cupule of the church.

If you see with attention the picture above, the little figure has a white dress and some kind of a hat.

Now, I say it is easy for the authorities of the church to have a double of the little figure, hide one and to make believe that the child moved place, and put him in some other one. But don't you think it is risky for the guy who could move the figure up there, climb over the cupule to put him on, just for the sake of the miracle?

But people believe it, now they claim miracle, miracle.... I don't put people faith in doubt, there are people with a lot of faith, that is o.k with me. But really believing that the little figure moved by him-self in some kind of autonomous locomotion, it is just... well.

By the way, ¡¡¡Santo Niño de Atocha!!! is an expression of surprise used in Mexico, when something unexpected is happening.

Cinco de Mayo.

Do I have an opinion about other people's country holidays? Do I know enough to overlook what other people in the same room have to say about their own holidays, independece days, Queen Victoria, boxing day or whatever?..... NOOOOOOOOO. -Por Diocito santo, noooo.-

Today in some place, I go every thursday, there were decorations about "Cinco de Mayo", some kid asked to the person that made the decorations about the festivity, and that person says it was Mexico's independence day!

Of Course, due to my purity and "mexicanism" of these days, I sayed -No, it is not Independence-, it is.....

Than, a woman started to talk about the issue, stepping over my own words, while I was explaining. (not a mexican, by the way).

The person I was talking to, gave the word again to me, asking me about the day. And than again this woman saying that in Mexico it is not even observed... That it is a "San Pedro little battle". - ¡JOLINES!- or Holennes ( for the english speakers).

Cinco de Mayo it is not Independece day, it is not San Pedro battle, it is a battle, that is true. When France invaded Mexico during the 1860's with a great army, a group of Mexican, indians and militars fought back and won that single battle with a little weapons, and poor training. All of that occurred in a place named PUEBLA.

In Mexico we know this event as the Puebla battle. And yes we observe the holiday, but of course not in proportions as independece, for that we have September 16th. In Mexico, Cinco de Mayo is special when we connect it with May first (Dia del Trabajo), so everybody enjoys a long weekend.

It is a mistery why, here in U.S, Cinco de Mayo is as St. Patrick's day. Somebody says it is a beer brand idea, other say, the U.S was so grateful that Mexico contained the French, during civil war , that they didn't had to be worried about France invading U.S and try to recover the territories sold to the States, even advancing into Quebec, and for that, here, in this country the celebration is grand.

Anyways, now with Cinco de Mayo, latin american people in the U.S., spanish speakers (I hate the hispanic term, this is another topic for discussion), may find a meaning to express their culture.... or maybe not. Argentinians may have another opinion.

Bítacora Bahia de Los Angeles, Baja California.

As you know, we traveled south for spring break, into the heart of the península de Baja California, a not easy forgotten territory for us (Eduardo, Pepe and I), a place we remember from our days in Baja California University.

The intention was primarly to have a good time during "semana santa" with the kids. As every "decent" mexican does, splashing in water for this time of the year... (if you don't believe, look for those "artificial beaches" they put in Mexico city).

But I have to say, the three adults in the party, connected again with the soul of our degree, the study of the ocean.

For me it was a fabulous experience, seeing once more the geological nudity of the scenes of Baja California.

But of course the interaction with family and friends was great. The kids had a very good time, swimming, playing on the sand. By morning going to the door step of our tents into the tide pools. In this place the tide gets very low, so it uncovers the rocks of the ecosystem. By early afternoon they enjoyed the sandy beach. As Aida said, - here, it was pajamas, swimming suit, pajamas again-.

The destination of our trip was Bahia de Los Angeles. A magnificent place, a fisherman village, with no sewage or fresh water distribution system, lackage of electricity and no cellular phone service, I didn't see a cord phone either. The camping place were we stayed, named Archelon camp, has very nice service and commodities. Its owner, happen to be a guy who studied the same as us. And his love for turtles made him start a program of sea turtles, many years ago, when this place had even less than today. A remarkable guy... El oceanólogo perfecto, el ideal, diria pepe.

Every night we had spectacular moon risings, the first one, just incredible... with a moon the looked almost like the sun with a dark surrounding, it is a shame the camera could not caputre such amazing event.
If you had see pics in Lauren's or Pepe's blogs, maybe you had notice the kind of vegetation, just sides of the road. We had the opportunity to see cardons, that are those cactus with branches, and cirios, those tall plants that look like thin candles, it suposses cirios are unique for the peninsula.

But my favorite is this, it is not a plant but a geological structure called "El Castillo", castle, close to a place named el Rosario, three hours from Bahia de los Angeles.

Mas películas

Alatriste is the most expensive movie ever made in Spain. It is going to be realesed very soon in Mexico, probably we could not see it in S.D. I'd love to watch it ( a trip to Tijuana sounds fine), because I enjoy movies with swords, situated in historical context (in this case the war between Spain and The Netherlands) . Las Aventuras del Capitán Alatriste are a series of books (novel), very popular in Spain, now made into a movie.

Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn from The Lord of the Rings) is Alatriste. I have read, this is not such a good movie, but still appeals to me.

What I found really cool is the bicultural "style" of Mortensen, he was rised in Argentina and Venezuela, and when he speaks spanish is like any other spanish speaking movie-star.

Babel or The Departed

I had the opportunity to watch Babel and The Departed, I liked them both. Great performances in both movies. Leonardo DiCaprio, finally got a credit from me as an actor (as if he would care about it...). I liked The Departed very much, I enjoy this kind of drama-intrigue, good guys against bad ones. But... I have to say I liked more Babel.
It is nothing about being Mexican and thinking the Oscar had to go to a Mexican, but really it is a good movie. And if you think about drama, Babel got it in much quantitiy.
I saw González-Iñarritu, in an interview, talking about the loss of a child, he himself suffered the death of a son, probably at baby age, because Babel talks about it. In this movie he dives in those feelings, the loss of a love one.
I laughed at what Gael Garcia Bernal replied to the boy, when the kid talked about what his mom had sayed, that Mexico is dangerous, - Si.. está lleno de Mexicanos-.

Miguel Bosé... Papito.

Miguel Bosé, the Spaniard singer, is celebrating his 50th birthday and his 30 years as a singer and he got a new album called "Papito". It is sooo coool! he sings duet with many people (Shakira, Juanes, Ricky Martin, etc). In one of those songs, and by the way is my favorite, he sings along with 80's Spaniard famous, Alaska. Now, of course poor Alaska doesn't look in pretty shape, but she brought to me so many memories before the global warming and the Iraq war (even the first one).

I'm going to tell one: Pepe used to train swimming in the mornings and after it he and his friends hanged out with the taco lady. At that time he and I barely speak to each other. He started to grow his hair and he used to wear a big rain coat (I don't know, ask him).

One morning I came to him while he was eating his morning burrito, and ask him: hey are you growing your hair as Miguel Bosé?.... He looked at me... no expression on his face... and returned to eat... of course it was an insult to him. What I didn't know, is that he was fan of Alaska, he was a punk inside. At that time Miguel Bosé and Alaska looked from different worlds, but now they sing so happy together, take a look Amante Bandido!

This is the new place for San Diego Cooperative Charter School. Every body is so happy to have a nice place for our school! Thanks to the people that made this possible, all the ones that worked so hard to get it.

¡¡¡VIVA LA LENGUA ESPAÑOLA,.. VIVA EL ESPAÑOL!!!

¡Si! qué viva esta lengua madre, qué viva... y esto lo digo yo, porque así lo siento. Hoy dió inicio el IV Congreso Internacional de la Lengua Española con un homenaje a García Márquez. El mismo relató que no tenía los 83 pesos que costaba el envío de su borrador de Cien Años de Soledad, desde la ciudad de México hasta Argentina y optó por mandarlo en dos partes, aunque por equivocación primero despachó la segunda.
Una lengua de unidad, se dijo en Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. Este es mi idioma, la lengua que uso para pensar y decirle a mis amadas lo mucho que las quiero.

Un año mas para Pepe, aunque no este en casa, Aitana, Bidane y Daleth le mandan saludar, lo esperaremos en casa con un pozole.

Del lado Gallego.

What my daughters and I have to do with St. Patrick's day or Ireland? almost nothing. But we went so happy to the parade and wore green shirts yesterday and today just because is San Patricio.
There were tons of people doing the same along sixth ave. Today.
As I know, St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland, he introduced Christianity in that country. Lately the festivity evolved around more Irish folklore, which is fine with me, because I simpathize with the Irish, and Celtic culture, that is why, we went to the parade.
But, somewhere along the parade, there were people with banners saying the other gaelic.... gallegos.... That is it...!
Los Gallegos is another Celtic people living in Spain, in Galicia... so... If this St. Patrick's day is about the Celtic culture, fine. One can never know if some of my relatives traveled from there (ven ustedes que valiente soy, al decir que algun pariente mio puede ser gallego?) or maybe Asturias, to Mexico, hundred of years ago, and now legitimately I can celebrate San Patricio.

El misterio de las canas.

Quien me puede decir, cual es la cosa con las canas? Que se creen estas intrusas... brotan de 3 en 3 o de una en una, o salen mas cuando estamos enojados y frustrados o las retiene uno cuando esta contento.
O simplemente las canas llegan para quedarse y van poblando la cabeza poco a poco hasta ocupar todo el espacio. Cual es la cosa con éstas, por que a mi me gustaria saber de a cuantas me van a tocar este año o si podré estar tranquila por los siguientes meses y esperar un regimiento de ellas para el verano o el otoño.
Yo al menos vivía tranquila de estas intrusas, hasta que de repente y sorpresivamente empezé a localizarlas, además claro que ellas no disimulan su aparición, se plantan como grandes divas y ahi se quedan. Las puedo desterrar temporalmente quitandolas de mi vista, pero no por mucho tiempo.
Habrán vitaminas o suplementos alimenticios que las frenen? si alguien sabe, DIGALO, porque me gustaria darles una sorpresa de supresión y contensión, para que dejen de molestar.

I found this in the "El pais", newspaper from Spain. Is a short- film-documental, about a little store which sells bras, stockings, women's underwear in general.
Lately I've been thinking a lot about Spain and what this country brought to Mexico since the 1500's. It is surprising to me that even this kind of stores, are so similar at both sides of the Atlantic, and of course nothing to do with "La Conquista".
In my hometown there is a shop almost identical to that one in the video, I think I've walked in, just once. It is a shame, I'll do it next time I'll be there.
They do not know about Victoria Secret or Oprah's bra, but they sell in a personal way, they show to you their stuff, and make a little chat about the fabric and comfort of the piece. As in the video, you can see piles and piles of boxes... and the smell of the store, is not lavander-lilac-shimering-whatever, it is just new cotton, maybe silk.
A person can forget that little worlds like that exist, that malls and Victoria Secret are the hot places to buy. Probably my middle age is producing this nostalgia, I'm glad I see things with more appreciative eyes.

Tomamos carretera para visitar los lugares cercanos a San Diego, inaugurando el 2007, año de las exploradores Marti-Huerta.

Para iniciar la ruta 94, el puente Sweet Water. Estamos investigando el tipo de plantas que crecen junto al puente, parece romero, muy oloroso.

Potrero Park, no mas de una hora de San Diego, encontramos este lugar para acampar. Ya esta en nuestra mira para pasar una noche o dos.


No podia faltar un rancho de caballitos, favoritos de Aitana.

Frida Kahlo y Lila Downs

Que tienen en común Lila Downs y Frida Kahlo? ambas son "artists", una canta, la otra pintaba. Ambas tienen padres "non-mexicanos", pero madres con orígines en Oaxaca. Aunque si nos fijamos bien, las dos visten casi igual...pareciera que Lila Downs toma ideas de la pintora mexicana.

No es de sorprender que Lila Downs parezca Frida Kahlo, las dos mujeres se inspiran en aquellas del Itsmo de Tehuantepec, las Tehuanas. Lila Downs por su lado, estuvo en contacto directo con esta cultura, ella creció en parte, en aquellas localidades, su familia pasaba temporadas en México.

La madre de Frida Kahlo tenia origenes Oaxaqueños, sin embargo no estaba directamente relacionada con el Itsmo de Tehuantepec. Frida Kahlo empieza a usar ropas de Tehuana cuando le quiere dar gusto a su esposo Diego Rivera, quien ensalsa y reconoce la cultura Tehuana.

Creo que para estas dos mujeres, vestirse de Tehuanas, les ayuda a abrir su creatividad, a reconocerse como mujeres, ya que se dice que las mujeres Tehuanas ejercen una especie de matriarcado, además estos trajes étnicos les proporcionan y afianzan a estas dos artistas, la identidad mexicana, ya que recordemos son hijas de padres extranjeros.

Féliz cumple a García Márquez.

Primero que a García Márquez, felicito a los cumpleañeros a los que no me referí en este blog desde enero: mi hermano Eduardo, luego mi hermana Eblyn, y a mi suegro Don Vicente.

Ahora si, Garcia Márquez está de fiesta, cumple 80 años, asimismo durante el 2007 serán 40 años de la publicación de Cien años de Soledad.

Sin embargo, aunque Cien años de Soledad vió la luz en 1967, - como yo. La novela que mas me gusta de este autor es, El Amor en los Tiempos del Cólera. Cuando la leí no pude soltarla hasta haberla terminado. Debo decir que no todos los trabajos de este hombre me encantan, como los cuentos de la Hojarasca, incluso su último libro, Recuerdo de mis Putas Tristes, -no me enloquecieron-. Pero el Amor en los Tiempos del Cólera fue un deleite para mí.

Los síntomas de amor que presentaba Florentino, el rechazo de Fermina hacia Florentino, cuando se encuentra con él después del viaje que le hizo hacer su padre para separarlos, la muerte del doctor Juvenal esposo de Fermina, acto que Florentino habia esperado por décadas para recuperar a Fermina y claro la descripción de los paisajes, que me recordaban, el verde de mi lugar de origen.

Groceries, coffee and more.

I've never been in such beautiful super-market as Wholefoods, the place where they sell the meat (carnicería) is so clean and pristine, no bad odors and those guys that get your order are more like spa employees that "carniceros", nothing to do with my hometown market, back in Mexico, where they used to kill the chickens in front of everybody eyes, (today they do it away). But as nice Wholefoods is, as well expensive, so I just go there like once every 5 years. Where I like to go and find my produce is Henry's, which was later gotten by Wild Oats. But still good prices and products.

Yesterday, I listend on the radio news, Whole foods bought Wild Oats, ergo, Henry's, and that is something my one-income-family can't bear. I know organic is better, but expensive-organic, well you know... I prefer to wash my carrots that have a super-clean and germs-free package. According to the "organic expert" on the radio, the transaction doesn't mean lower prices, even Whole foods can close some stores from Wild Oats. I will see what happens or I'll have to buy in other place.

And talking about stores, Trader Joe's is another favorite. Now you can find the fair trade coffee at good price 6.99 for a 13 ounce can, a good coffee not fair trade, is about 5 something with almost the same quantity, so drop one coffee from the coffee shop and buy this fair trade.

Trader Joe's sells chiles rellenos, or stuffed poblano peppers as they called them, un chile relleno por 3.49, and is not even covered with this mexican style batter or capeado. In the mexican store close to my house the platter with two chiles is the same price, with rice and beans. Now, if I make them one chile costs about 40 cents, plus the egg and what ever I put in, will be no more than one dollar. I see why Trader Joe's puts los chiles in first place on the grocery list, the profit is good.

Y quien le cuida a los hijos?

Who is taking care of her children? obviously she is not the one. Oh my! all this Britney "pelona (no hair)" issue is so pathetic. The result of a chain of really bad decisions from several years now.
How somebody can go from the pinnacle to hell in a short period of time, two children and various partners?
Somebody from those late-night talk show said, she is so vulnerable that he wasn't making jokes about her. He is right.
Poor young woman; personally I never was her fan or wanted my kids to sing her songs, but is not nice to see her in such condition.

Bolocco a los 41

Cecilia Bolocco; 41 años de edad, ex miss universo, esposa de Carlos Menem (ex-presidente de Argentina), lo único que no le envidio es lo primero y lo último, aunque lo primero lo pasaría si a cambio tuviera yo esa pinta...

Hey, maybe during the two years to go for my 41 birthday I can get like this, huh?.... Don't laugh please, I'm optimistic.

Maria Antoinette la película.

Yo estaba muy ansiosa de ver esta película y la verdad es que me encantó.

I was very excited to watch this movie, waiting for it at the video store, and I loved it. Sofia Coppola transmits a good story of this queen of France. As many of you know, Queens of Europe is one of my favorites subjects, because put together history, women issues, politics, some fashion, traditions, but over all understanding of persons that had a remarkable print in humandkind.
I liked a lot the ending of the movie, the way Coppola manages the sorroundings, colours and cakes!... Beautiful, bravo.

Am I optimistic?

Yes! I'm more optimistic that I thought I would be (what optimistic huh?), that is a good news for me. Today was folding day and turn on the t.v at the end of the Oprah Show, they were talking about "a secret", something related to attract the positive through positive attitude (I think I have heard of that before), anyways, after came the news and to catch some viewers already hooked with Oprah (like me), they offered something like a test for optimism, so I stayed, folding clothes and watching t.v.
And there it was the test... I took it, and yes, I have a good relationship with myself, which makes me so happy, I could be more optimistic indeed. Maybe my good humor comes from my daughters listening to Abba every day, just they open the eyes in the morning I tune myself with "dancing queen" and good memories from my own childhood come along.

Y que ha pasado?

Bidane y Aitana "Science Fair" at school.

Bidane en el sleeping bag, regalo de Lauren y Aida. Asi paso la tarde en que Aitana estaba en la pijamada en casa de su amiga Sissy.

Féliz dia de San Valentin.. las dos niñas fabricaron sus propias tarjetas del dia del amor y la amistad en casa, Aitana hizo unos separadores y Bidane pegó corazones en papelillos doblados.

Una pijamada!

Hoy será la primer noche de Aitana, fuera del seno familiar, es decir se ha ido a una pijamada, a casa de una amiga de la escuela donde pasará la noche.
Será la primer vez también que ella y yo no estaremos juntas a dormir, pues las veces que ha ocurrido ha sido porque yo he estado en el hospital.
Ojalá y se divierta mucho y no me extrañe como yo la extraño a ella, Bidane dijo, YO NO EXTRAÑO A AITANA, PERO MI DESEO ES QUE ESTE AQUI.

Al Gore y Zapatero

If Al Gore runs for the presidency I will pray so he can win (because it is not much I can do, as you know I can't vote, or get a job ....), but what I can surely say is that this guy is great. The newspaper El Pais from Spain shows "Presidente" Zapatero and Al Gore, talking about the environment report, and they call it as an "emergency situation", in fact Zapatero said Spain is showing Gore's movie in every school around Spain.

Why I had my last tall latte or any kind of Starbuck's product..

Last thursday while Aitana was in her dance class, Bidane and I walked to Starbucks. For me as ussual, asked for a "tall" latte, Bidane wanted juice, she is always happy going to that place, she looks the cookies expectant that I say: o.k have a cookie if you like- that never happened, so I think she keeps faith some day it would.
Pepe always complained about my thursday coffee in Starbucks: that coffee is so expensive... in Spain (since he traveled to Spain, he is so "español") you have "un cortado" for 1.50. I believe him, and I see it, in Borders you get it for less the price Starbucks charges.
Anyway I just wanted coffee and a little walk with my girl; that day I noticed in the coffee shop they offer bottled water, it suppose you buy and they send profits to Ethiopan children, something like that. I thought that's cool, supporting the children of Africa.
Then on Friday I found something interesting on the internet about a movie called Black Gold, the crisis of coffee prices and issues between Starbucks and Ethiopan producers... (ahhh). That made me re-think my Starbucks consumption.
I've always believed that Starbucks made committments with social issues and environmental ones, in fact you see the paper lavel they have, it says "Starbucks is committed to reducing our environmental impact through increased use of post-consumer recycled materials. Help us help the planet". All the image they have is about things like that, they have even "won awards" related to the same.
So, the problem is they do not pay "fairtrade" to the producers and if you want a fairtrade coffee from them, you need to ask for it, it is not part of their "tall, grande, whatever"choices, if you want it, they will press it just for you... and you have to pay more...! and of course, if the employee get confused when you ask for a small size, imagine when you say "fairtrade".
They sell water to help children of Ethiopia, but they do not pay fair prices to the coffee producers from the same country, still selling its grandes and talls so expensive...!
Now as a conclussion, I'm not a "fairtrade- organic, fanatic" consumer yet, but if a company campaigns it self as committed, helpful to the world, and asks more money for their products, at least I expect from them what they offer.
For my little girl will not be anymore walkings to Starbucks, probably we will find better thing to do.

A lo Francés

Por que las francesas son delgadas? ésta es la pregunta que se hacen de este otro lado del Atlántico y que ha sido respondida en varias ocasiones por diferentes autores. Libros que se han vendido como pan caliente a consumidoras en busca de lo esbelto (igual movidas por la envidia).

Ahora de nuevo, alguna otra escritora se mete en lo intrinseco de la respuesta para las "Americanas", señala que si te comportas como las francesas lo hacen en cada estación del año, posiblemente logres ser delgada: come sopas en invierno, esparragos y fresas en primavera, tomates y asados en verano asi como peras y papas en otoño.

Y este señorito quien será? su nombre es David de Rothchild, un millonario inglés que les disputa a los príncipes de Inglaterra el puesto del soltero mas codiciado, y además es un activista ecológico. Lo último señalado es por lo que me llama la atención, no vaya a pensar usted que sea por algún atractivo físico que tenga, además lo encotré en la revista National Geographic.

Have you heard about David de Rothchild? he is member of the english nobility, I found his photo in the National Geographic magazine, not in "People or Hello". But what it dragged me was not his looks, but that he is an activist: Environmental crusader & adventurer, "que taaaaaaal"!

I found it interesting, he is exactly a modern version of his 18th and 19th centuries english-gentleman-ancestors, looking for geographic adventures around the globe, interested by nature and using his money to try understand the earth processes. He travels to the north pole or talks about global warming.

I say his web site is cool, he tries to "inspire environmental awarness among children", I don't see anything wrong being rich and green at the same time, but I wonder if this ecological adventure of his is the way to show up his brilliant feathers or really a profound commitment for a better place.

It is not uncommon to see famous people or powerful ones trying to aware others about the environment or social issues, see Bono as example. The message is all that we need to do is a common effort.

I wish organic products and those that use new technology were less expensive and every body could have acces to them, not just Julia Roberts and George Clooney. I will put an every day example of this, it is supposed Starbucks brings fair trade coffee and supports post recycled material and every body feels fine when buying from a social responsible company, but their coffe is superior expensive that a local coffee shop! Coffee after oil is the next trade product in the world! so... who is winning here.

Any way, support social responsibility and environmental awarness, but see from whom you consume.

Viva! American girls

The American girls stories had brought a lot of questions and curiosity to Aitana and I love it. She is fascinated by the historic characters and she wonders the most about Josefina. As you may know, Josefina context is around 1820's in New Mexico, when that part of the U.S was still Mexico. Now Aitana questions why that territory is now U.S, and how all of the sudden, families that one day were mexicans the next day are American-o-. She wonders about Mexico City at that time, she even has told me she would love to know how the city looked like at that time. And lucky her, some time ago I got a children version of the book written by the wife of Spain's embassador in 1830, where she described the every day life in Mexico city. I like she feels connection and affinity with this mexican-character, hopefully Aitana can dig more about her roots and heritage.

Quien hizo propositos de ano nuevo? Yo si tengo un proposito por cumplir, sin embargo me he puesto de plazo hasta mi cumpleanos para cumplirlo, es decir me quedan todavia 9 meses para desarrollarlo. Sin embargo, hoy escuche en las noticias que este dia es el peor para aquellos como yo, con propositos de ano nuevo, pues nos damos cuenta que no hemos hecho nada por cumplirlos y para colmo, empiezan a llegar las cuentas que pagar! Lo cual pone de malas a cualquiera.

Yesterday I was talking with Pepe about what I need to acomplish this year, since I'm going to be 40, my objective is a big one, so I put as a dead line octuber, but there are steps that I need to take to get there, and need to put action before it is to late. I took my box with notes and more notes, getting lost in so many things I have accumulated through the years, it seems like every january I write something about the moths gone and what I want from the new year, and my preoccupations are basically the same year after year.
Suddenly on the radio something caught my attention, TODAY IS THE GLOOMIEST DAY OF THE YEAR! because persons like me find themselves that nothing is been done to start with the new objectives, the bills of spendings are coming and every thing seems no caminando.

Following the last comment I made about Victoria A-Beckham. She is soooooo thin, look at her legs, if it wasn't by her job in her breast, she would be a living mummy. Oh my... se desbarata de tan flaca la pobre, en cambio la inocente mujer de atras.
